It’s really hard to know where to start once you decide that you need to declutter your home.
For this reason, I decided to put together a quick checklist for you to use.
There are 30 items types that you could declutter without really feeling bad.
Take one item type each day and within a month you will have cleared out a fair amount of clutter. You may also have made some money by selling your unwanted books, handbags, jewellery etc.
All you need to do, is to get two big black rubbish bags, one for the things to throw away and one for the stuff you can donate or sell.
Choose one of my item types, take a photo of your drawer, cupboard, corner or pile and then get started.
Spend about an hour clearing out. Then take a photo of your stuff after decluttering.
Take your rubbish bag to the tip.
If you have time left to go through the second bag, you can. If not place it out of the way until tomorrow.
Make sure you do go back to this back. Empty the contents onto a table. Seperate into piles of donate or give away and the things you want to sell.
Take individual photo’s of the stuff you want to sell and upload to some selling platform like Facebook or ebay.
You could also arrange to have a garage sale. If you do this, you may need to wait until you have finished decluttering. I guess that depends on how much stuff you are clearing out.
